crafty friday, silvie's rainy day art station
could this be the longest gloomiest winter ever?! finding things for silvie to do indoors while it rains, snows, and hails (sometimes all at the same time) has been a tiny bit challenging and exhausting. thankfully (on bended knees) when i came across this happy raincloud mobile, it sparked my creativity to design a special place for silvie to color, paint, create and eat play-doh!
location was tricky, mainly because we wanted her station to be central in the house for proper supervision. ya know, like for monitoring her play-doh intake.
the project literally came together in hours -- just a trip to my favorite antique boutique for the lead-free vintage table (which we cut the legs down to achieve a custom fit) and canisters to hold all her art supplies (which are amazing because silvie needs our help opening the lids, brilliant!), a trip to target for the placemat and metal clips we attached to our mirror with 3m tape for art displaying. oh, the chair! this sweet little chair once belonged to brenner right around silvie's age -- handed down with love.
and the best part? silvie loves, loves, loves her new rainy day art station. yes! true happy success.

I love your rendition of the mobile! Sooo cute!
