cha-cha-changes

so you may have noticed some recent changes to dailymel lately. in addition to the new banner and color changes, I made some big architecture changes too, one of which is my new photography link. due to the number of errors and lack of support from flickr, I'm now using a new photo gallery for your photo viewing pleasure. the second change is where my favorite blogs & shops reside, check out my linked link if you care to gander.

My bird love *moving forth in faith* came from a ring i ordered shortly after our second miscarriage in November. and now any designs with birds, for me, represents my two babes in heaven watching over us.

and since this entry is about change, allow me to share a quote quite fitting for my season of change:

"It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power." -- alan cohen

slacking with good reason

so it's been brought to my attention by a certain individual that in the land of blogging i've been a total slacker. and do you want to know why? i have a valid excuse, really i do.

it's called facebook!

i’m hooked! how bad you ask? so bad that i recently forced myself to set a timer for the time i allow myself to have facebook open at home.

10 warning signs that you may be addicted to facebook:

  • facebook is your home page.

  • you update your status more than twice a day.

  • you have over 500 “friends” half of whom you’ve never actually met.

  • as soon as you step away from your computer you’re on FB on your phone.

  • you are a fb stalker. you qualify as a FB stalker if you:

  1. click on someone's profile more than once a day even if they haven't messaged or tagged you in a photo.

  2. have dragged and dropped more than 3 fb photos (not from your own profile). (????)

  3. actually go to a place mentioned on someone's page in hopes of seeing them in real life. (creepy!)

  • you change your profile picture more than a 12-year-old girl.

  • you have checked your FB page while reading this article.

  • you clean up your “wall” so it looks like you spend less time on FB.

  • you are a member of more than 10 groups and respond to every event invitation “attending” even if you have no intention of going.

  • you change your relationship status just to mess with people. (hahahaha!)

my score: 8 no's & 4 yes's.

so maybe there's still hope for a successful intervention in my near future. chop-chop!!!

I'm in need of some sweet serenity,
back home,
in the country,
where life is simple and carefree!

in all fairness, little winston did
walk over a mile on his leash
until his little legs could go no more.

a special haiku

once upon a time
two girls, one short and one tall,
became kindred friends.

then one day, after
many other days, the girls
parted, on sad terms.

for many days and
many moons, they didn't speak
only silence fell.

after many moons
and many changes, good and
bad, healing started.

slowly but surely
the walls came down, tumbling
with their tears and fears.

and with that said, the
tall girl gave the short girl this
love gift to treasure.

{for baby ridlon, in god's perfect timing}
