spring, what spring?

so it's "officially" spring. um yeeeeeeah, i'm convinced that central oregon doesn't have this so called season - it goes from snow to 80 degree weather over night. odd-noying.

last weekend was a real emotional flip-flopper for me. after saying goodbye to my parents and brenner, i cried for an hour. i tried to hide my tears and sniffles from adam but failed...miserably. after i composed myself we headed out the door with our mile long shopping and "to-do" lists. it was a long day.

sunday morning i had a hankering for french toast and cantaloupe. i gave adam "the look" and he was out the door and pulling out of the driveway before i could hand him a list. i'm not sure if he feared another mood flopper or if he was just so excited i was making him breakfast. either way, he was a champ.

at 1:55pm our always prompt friends, julie and phil, came over for easter dinner. julie made the most delish cheesy potato dish and brought just for me, sparkling pear juice. yum! and of course adam and i got our sweet little paige fix...ohhhhh, she melts our hearts!!! while enjoying our strawberry cheesecake we discussed our summer vacation plans. initially we planned to vacation in mexico around september, but with that placing me at 7+ months pregnant - that's out! so...being that we all love the outdoors, water sports, and scoring a great tan, we decided to research houseboats at shasta lake. it's perfect!!!!

spring break

we said our goodbyes bright and early this morning. go little man, with your sharky in one arm and your book with paper and colored pencils in the other, go have your great adventure and come back to me soon -- i miss you already.

look-a-like

people tell me all the time that i look just like my mother. i don't see it and my mother certainly doesn't see it, but as i was downloading the photos from yesterdays leadership redmond class...there it was...a mirror image of my mother. no denying it.

**this morning we were all pleasantly surprised with yummy goodies on our desks left by the easter bunny, a.k.a. eric sande. this is the largest chocolate bunny i have ever received. all 2,100 calories/130 fat grams of mr. professor will be packed nicely in brenner's suitcase for his 18 hour drive to yuma with my parents. muahahahahahahaha!!!

baby ridlon

age: 5 weeks...give or take 7 days.

baby-ridlon-5-weeksmall.jpg

do you see him/her? no? that's because he/she is too small to be seen just yet, so what you see here is the yolk sac. yay, i have a healthy yolk sac!!!

we go back in two weeks for another ultrasound. apparently, when i took the pregnancy tests (all three of them) i was only about 10 days or so pregnant - how's that for early-detection? either that or we're having twins. hmm...

**also, meet zach the zebra. brenner wants to enter him in the next issue of zoobooks. wish him luck!

committees, ultrasounds and smells

i AGREED TO CHAIR THE committee for the ANNUAL SPAGHETTI DINNER FOR the REDMOND HABITAT FOR Humanity AGAIN THIS YEAR, THIS TIME WITH MORE NOTICE (NOT AS MUCH AS i WOULD LIKE) TO PREPARE AND PLAN. tHIS YEAR THE COMMITTEE IS STEPPING THINGS UP A BIT AND ADDING A THEME, LIVE/SILENT AUCTION, LIVE ENTERTAINMENT AND A CATERED DINNER AT EAGLE CREST. THIS year WITHOUT A DOUBT will BE A HUGE LEARNING PROCESS FOR OUR ORGANIZATION. wE'VE ALREADY RECEIVED TWO PRESENTING SPONSORS, ONE ENTERTAINMENT & DESSERT SPONSOR TOTALLY OVER $7,000. GOD IS GOOD.

I CAN'T TELL HOW EXCITED I AM for our ultrasound appointment on monday. I NEED CONFIRMATION THAT EVERYTHING IS OK. I FEEL GREAT - OTHER THAN WANTING TO CRAWL UNDER MY DESK AT RANDOM TIMES OF THE DAY TO sleep, and LAUGHING AND CRYING AT THE SAME TIME, which is very DIFFERENT WITH THIS PREGNANCY. FOR INSTANCE, JUST THE OTHER DAY I FOUND MYSELF SoBBING - NOT just TEARY-EYED - BUT SoBBING DURING HOME ALONE!!! poor adam just looks at me, wants to fix me, but only makes it worse trying and wonders when he will get his wife back. I'd like to know as well.

oh and the local unicel store reeks of old man smell mixed with gym locker funk. seriously, do they not smell what i smell?!?

perpetual thinking

what an exciting fun weekend we're having. before dinner with julie and phil last night, adam and i hit some fun baby stores and scored some fabulous deals. i had a dream friday night about the design of the nursery - my head was spinning yesterday morning as i was trying to remember and jot down all the ideas, because let's face it, my memory card is currently on the fritz lately.  first step - put a large blank canvas in front of my mama. fun!!!!

ok, i'm off to figure out our new dash telly's we picked up yesterday.

friends fix. fixed.

last night i met two of my favorite peeps, lauren and mindy for dinner, dessert & drinks at the brickhouse. i of course ordered a non-alcoholic beverage - the virgin mary! it was very tasty and the look on our waiter's face per my request and listening to lauren snicker behind the menu was most entertaining. our new favorite girls gathering place for sure!

tonight i'm meeting my jen for dinner in bend to celebrate the growing sesame seed in my belly. dinner, hugs and maybe some shopping is just what this moody, bloated and exhausted girl needs. sigh

to complete my "friends i must see" fix, adam and i are meeting julie and phillip tomorrow night for dinner and a movie - can't wait!!!!!

current craving: v8 juice - yum.

big news

after trying for only two months - we're pregnant! needless to say Adam is very, very proud. according to the pregnancy wheel i'm in my sixth week, but we'll know for sure on the 17th at our first appointment and ultrasound. adam wants a boy and i want a girl, of course. in my heart i think we're having a girl but i'd be thrilled with a boy. i think the happiest to hear the news is brenner, he can't stop talking about having a brother named ned who he can play with and tease. girls are "icky" right now so a sister is just not acceptable.

other than feeling ridiculously tired and in bed by 8pm, i'm doing great. i didn't get sick a day with brenner so i'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed the same goes with this pregnancy.
