crafty friday, like a fox!

ever look at something you made and think, holy wow, i did that!? like in a good way? well i rarely do. i usually look at all the errors and mistakes and ponder starting over or just filing the project under, craft fail! but thanks to my mother and her wisdom, encouragement and attitude to just "go for it!" and remembering that handmade comes from love, not perfection...i'm turning over a new leaf.

i had so much fun making this lil' countryside critter for my good friend christen's daughter's 1st birthday, who will be at home in her upcoming redecorated room of woodland pals.

picnic date day

last week i received an e-invite from adam to go on a picnic date with him and miss silvie today. and since i generally do the social planning for our family i couldn't hit "yes" on "going?" fast enough, and i knew just the place he had in mind.

about five years ago we discovered this wonderful community called camp sherman. we stayed here and it was amazing. a place we love to escape to relax, disconnect from mind clutter and reflect on what's really important to us, our family.

so, we enjoyed some grub, snapped some photos, silvie discovered her first pinecone, and tested bob's off-road abilities on a bumpy and hecka narrow 3 mile walk along the metolius river. a perfect day.

we loooooooooooove the style of this cottage for a vacation home on the river. our 10-year investment plan? heck yeah!

crafty friday, clipboard art collage

since brenner could talk he was all about airplanes, always pointing up at them while squealing and turning bright red in the face with excitement. when he was about five years old my parents found this airplane to add to his growing collection.

and thankfully, he still digs them. so when i came across this website with fun clipart, i knew i found the final piece to add to brenner's recent bedroom update. just print and clip. easy-peasy and cheap!

my sweet mother's day

my special day started a day early when my husband came home with beautiful flowers and a project that required tools and our front porch. more on that later. sunday morning i was greeted with an amazing handmade card with a haiku poem inside from brenner. after a relaxing morning at home we got dressed and headed to church, followed by a fabulous lunch at la rosa.

so back to the project on the front porch. for years and years, and many more years before those years, i've dreamed of having a swing on my front porch. well...adam made my dream come true, and of course holding my other two dreams come true definitely completed my day.

crafty friday, hand stitched mother's day cards

this project was so much fun because i absolutely love to design patterns and stitch them on just about anything, especially stationary cards. the following cards were made for my wonderful moms, whom i hope already received them in the mail...otherwise...oops.

happy mother's day y'all. ~xoox

month: eight

it's hard to believe our sweet little silvie grace turns 8 months today. even harder to believe that she's almost crawling, we're talking "days" to almost, and that i've begun gathering ideas for her first birthday party. which is the sunday of labor day weekend so consider this your informal "save the date" notice.

here are some other fun things our baby genius is up to these days:

  • rolls over on both sides from back to tummy and vice-versa.

  • rocks back and forth on all fours like a frog.

  • stands with support from the furniture.

  • developed a cute new squeal that sounds like a fawn's call to her mother.

  • the tupperware drawer is her latest form of entertainment.

  • has visible sprouts of hair.

  • mega gags at peas, beans and squash.

  • introduced to goats milk and likes - still nurses 99% of the time tho.

  • still toothless.

  • shies away into our chests at strangers.

  • throws a mean temper tantrum.

  • rediscovered her thumb and guess which one? yep, her left.

  • not a fan of grass, socks or shoes (the proof is below).

this month has been so fun watching her personality develop and come alive, but i'll let the following pictures i took last sunday do the talking.

but wait, there's more...

yep, keep scrollin'...

i know, i obsess...

ridiculous, really...

see you next month!
