while i was strolling the aisles at the dollar store, looking for party supplies, i ran across pregnancy tests! for a dollar. a dollar people!!!! i checked the expiration dates and they were all good, so i quickly stashed two of them under some plates in my cart. i can't help it, i find it necessary to hide such items, almost embarrassed that yes, i'm having sex and trying to make babies, so please scan quickly and bag immediately. thank you.
last night brenner and i rode our bikes to music on the green to give adam some quiet time to finish his presentation for work. we hung out with the ypn crew while they sold root beer floats and watched the sugar (generous portions thanks to jared - grr!) take its zinging effect on brenner. on the ride home brenner talked non-stop and rode circles around me, go figure!
adam and i recently discussed our eating habits and decided to make a life change, cutting out mostly sugar, dairy and grain products from our diets. for kicks i jumped on the scale this morning and i've lost 5 pounds in four days! right freaking on! now if i can just motivate myself to get physical with my new pilates and yoga dvds i would almost feel superhero-ish.
this weekend we camped with george, cheryl and her entire family near timothy lake. brenner didn't catch any fish, but he did catch a fever...dirt bike fever!

...after two washes, my hair still smells like campfire smoke. i miss it already.
today is brenner's last day of school, which means he starts second (freaking second!) grade next year. ready or not...there goes my baby! a break from school is more than welcomed...no more evening homework and "mom this project is due today", or weekly fund raisers, or daily trips to the lost and found. this summer we decided to give daycare a break and let brenner try the boys and girls club. the boy is excited!
in four days adam and i will celebrate our first wedding anniversary! can you believe it? one year! 365.242199 days of pure bliss. here's where we'll be and unreachable this weekend...
monday...really? i swear two days isn't enough time to play catch up from a work week. sometimes i wonder what it would be like to have the luxury of hiring someone to clean my house, pay my bills, watch my child (free of charge), do my grocery shopping, so i could, um, do random selfish and meaningless things with my time...mmm, must be nice! yep.
saturday:
for months now we've been talking, researching and painfully realizing that we need to dump the truck - sooner than later! and because i like to shop local and support our chamber members, we found my new ride, yes, one i can actually park and drive in downtown redmond at one our most active and supportive dealerships. it's a sweet ride with leather seats and lots of fancy options that i'll probably never use.
after dropping adam and brenner off at the house to tackle the front yard project(s), i was off to tackle our mile long grocery list for the week and bbq. jen came over, bringing yummy treats and a surprise craft project - fun! brenner and tyler had the most fun roasting marshmallows for s'mores over the fire pit.
it was a good day!
i started peeing on ovulation sticks this morning - exciting news for some, boring for others. soooooo sorry.
this time around we'll probably wait until i'm showing or when my water breaks to tell people. believe it or not I'm still breaking the news to people about the miscarriage. um, hello? by now i'd be like 5 months pregnant and as big as house. think people, think!
even though i'm super excited it's friday, i can't believe where the week went! brenner's last baseball game was on monday, lots of meetings on tuesday, lunch with a very special long lost friend on wednesday and ypn (young professionals network) event last night. phew...i'm ready for the weekend. bring it! bring it with warm weather, please?!
this weekend we hope to finish the front yard with border and new bark mulch, as we finished the back last weekend. i'm really getting into planting and enjoying our yard this year. i love coming back from my morning run to find new flowers blooming everywhere!!!
