yesterday i attended an open house for a prospective member, long hollow ranch, near sisters, oregon. while driving down the long driveway lined with trees I was instantly taken back to the days I spent at grandpa's ranch back home. the lessons of life and simplicity will forever remain in my heart.
the challenge in which I plan to succeed: to get adam to stay a few nights at the b&b and ride a horse, which he has never done, ever!

what a sunny fun memorial day weekend we had in beautiful central oregon. we couldn't have asked for better weather for trail hikes, pool parties and bbq gatherings with friends.
yesterday, I did this, all day and enjoyed every minute of my non-working day off.
last weekend I had a mini photo op with ms. liz jones, my partner in crime at work, and her two pups, Lilly - a maltese, and barkley - a goldendoodle. sweet lilly didn't care so much for the grass and barkley sure had a thing for my camera lens - check out the size of that tongue!
what a whirlwind of a weekend. some parts good and some parts not so good. parts of healing wounds, some old - some new, lightly salted, perhaps not intentional, but still present and real to me. I appreciate all the good thoughts and texts over the weekend.
after getting brenner back on sunday we headed to sun mountain fun center for a fun family day. the following pictures were taken with my handy-dandy cell phone.
after heat stroke set in, we headed downtown for some refreshing ice-cream at Goody's and enjoyed every naughty bite. on our way home we purchased a pool, a pool that barely fits on our back patio. here are the five little monkeys who each took turns airing up the pool, by bike pump, and enjoying an early summer dip.
mother's day weekend was amazing. i was showered with homemade cards, a self portrait painting, and a gift certificate to spa w. we took our traditional mother's day bike ride in the canyon to starbucks and enjoyed the afternoon shopping, swimming and fancy dining at the athletic club in bend.

happy friday my lovelies. it's been a long week at work and I'm super thankful the weekend is near. my parents are coming in town this afternoon and staying to watch brenner's last soccer game of the season. and wow, that went fast.
I've been doing a lot of reflecting over the last two weeks and a particular song by an artist I'm not a huge fan of keeps playing on the radio and I can't get the lyrics out of my head. for me, music has the power to move, inspire and motivate me, especially country music. go figure.

back in john day, my hometown, my mother, pennie, patricia and i participated in the rally for the cure golf tournament. the weather was a typical spring day, showers included, but that didn't stop the 60 vivacious girls who showed up to support a cause that is very near and dear to our hearts.
