sunday sweets

// with our vacation starting tomorrow, i'm bringing you a simple sweet recipe today. seriously, all you need is a cake pop pan & sticks, lemon cake mix (box it!), juice of 1 lemon and 1 cup powdered sugar for the glaze & added sprinkle. i enjoyed my pop with a cozy warm latte. :)

thrifting thursday

forgive me for this sentimental gush of emotion, but i do believe i went through a box of kleenex while making the crib-to-bed transition with silvie. our baby!!! as if trading out her highchair for a booster seat wasn't hard enough. *ugh*

so the time came to purchase a bed when silvie began climbing in and out of her crib on a regular basis. we found this ikea bed and mattress in perfect condition on craigslist, which then ignited my search for bedding.

i had to dig pretty deep to find this sweet little pillow sham, which fortunately for me was missing its mate - bringing down the price to $1.50! i happened across the $2.99 knitted pillow while halloween costume shopping at goodwill. and the afghan, i actually came across several times while thrifting but it didn't have a purpose in our home...until now! and it was on sale that day for $1.50. i love "totally meant to be" finds.

thrifting thursday

i'm sooooo excited to share with you this amazing piece of vintage that silvie and i came across next to the dumpster of our local downtown thrift store. since someone had just dumped and dashed, it wasn't priced or cleaned - which meant i was first in line to make an offer. at a closer look, i discovered it was a mid century lane record cabinet that would upcycle beautifully into a bookcase for silvie's growing book collection. and you know what? it does - and we love it.
