stuff that's wrong

  1. self-contradiction.

  2. if you see an empty roll of toilet paper, change it!

  3. birds in pet stores that instantly make my eyes and throat itch and swell shut.

it's been an interesting week and all I can think about and look forward to is my bachelorette party that my girls are planning for me this saturday night.

so be it if I had to deal with my co-worker giving her two week notice at the most inopportune time, or that my fiance's melancholy mood drained every ounce of energy and patience I could muster despite the nasty virus that had me visiting the john every two hours for the past four days, or if certain people tried to shit on our parade, yet again. yes i said shit, get over it.

phew...quite a little rant I just had there. greatly needed!!!

a conversation with brenner

“hey mom, mom, mom…i need, need, need to add some stuff to your, your, your grocery list, it’s really, really, really important!”

two pencil sharpenings and 20 minutes later…

  1. more food for george.

  2. new exercise ball for george.

  3. ovaltine for me.

notice the stutter? At first this habit was cute and adoring but now i just find it nails on a chalkboard annoying. “just spit it out for the love of pete, child.”

current thoughts

when i get to work in the mornings there are two things i immediately do: 1. order my double tall skim mocha from Local grounds and 2. check my email accounts - all three of them. i received an email from my mama that read; "i miss my baby girl.........mama." warning: sappy moment ahead! my heart went kerplunk and i fought the tears that were welling up in my eyes. i love my mama so much and we don't see each other nearly as often as we should. words that describe my mama: selfless, sentimental, determined, creative, nurturing, and warm-hearted. i'm counting the days (15) until she visits for my bridal shower. good times ahead.

speaking of counting the days, only 42 until i become mrs. ridlon. wow, so much to think about and plan. I met with our florist and good friend vickie, who is my "mom away from mom", yesterday to pick out our flowers and can i just say what a relief it is to have that done?! check! we've been chatting for months now and she had everything wrote down and pictures to show me when i got to her store. the day will be filled with soft white peonies and roses, vivid pink and white hydrangeas with a splash of chartreuse green ribbon.

work is going great. we finally received approval from the executive board committee to hire another full-time employee. to say that we are understaffed and overworked would be an understatement. this person will take over my responsibilities as office manager enabling the time I so badly need to get out of the office and network with all the new businesses in our community. so my new title will be financial and membership director. big title...iddy biddy pay. also, adam and I decided that my cleaning business was taking too much of my time and energy on weekends so bye bye cleaning services. i won't miss you.

so maybe i'm jumping the gun here but i can't stop thinking about having another baby. adam, stop cringing and biting your nails. for some strange reason i'm still receiving the monthly issues of child and i haven't the foggiest idea why, i haven't subscribed or paid in like three years. things from the latest issue that has me feverish for a babe...
