a question, some hurrahs, and huhs

this morning brenner asked me the most random question:

"mom, what would it look like if someone with only one eye…cried?"

um…ok.

this week’s hurrahs! and huhs?

  1. twittering, faithfully. (hey, very important stuff.)

  2. receiving flair.

  3. the pressure in my head, is it from a sinus infection or stress?

  4. brenner looking less like a vampire.

  5. my dentist recommending i get braces, again, for the third time?

  6. laughing instead of dwelling.

  7. modeling shoes for timothy j. park.

  8. increasing my core strength.

  9. meeting financial goals.

  10. my imagination, have you seen it?

thanks, but no thanks

so last night we demo'd this adorable 6 month old puggle. assisting was heidi's hound, wyatt.

i guess you could say that after watching the little guy run in circles for nearly an hour in our backyard, only to stop and pee on the sidewalk, our decision was...

thanks, but no thanks!

better late than never

brenner's first day of second grade. his must-have item this year: nike wristbands. rock on little buddy!

"i am struck by the fact that the more slowly trees grow at first, the sounder they are at the core, and i think that the same is true for human beings. we do not wish to see children "precocious," making great strides in their early years, like sprouts producing a soft and perishable timber, but rather, better, as if contending gradually with difficulties, they are solidified and gradually perfected. such trees continue to expand with nearly equal rapidity to an extreme old age."

stalling

while i go through the million+ photos from our trip to portland, please allow me to share a blog entry from that's what she blogged.

i trust you'll enjoy the trip down memory lane almost as much as i did.

p.s. i believe a part of my heart (no pun intended) went with allison that summer. i also believe my mother made that puffy red plaid shirt.
