crafty friday, felt ornaments
felt. i simply adore the stuff. it's easy to use, doesn't ravel when cut and makes for a perfect canvas for embroidery projects. my friend christen over at our life styled recently featured one of my projects on her blog. sweet, huh? i'm almost certain she has a secret nanny stashed away in her basement she brings up during the day to watch her children while she crafts, blogs and pins amazing ideas on pinterest.
i digress...
i had several (the number would shock you!) fun felt projects all lined up to complete and then... weekend trips out of town happened...priorities surfaced...and the holidays came and left me in the dust. seriously, christmas is in two days? can i get a redo please! so here are the two i managed to complete.
ice skates: this was my favorite ornament to create, mainly because i recreated the pattern from the skates my mother made when i was a little girl that now hang on my tree.
vintage-inspired merry little ornament: i created this beauty from the book fa la la la felt my mother gifted to me last year that is chock full of wonderful patterns and ideas. trust me, you're gonna want to add this sucker to your amazon cart asap. disappointment will not follow.

this concludes crafty friday for 2011. what a fun year of creating and crossing over all corners of my crafting comfort zones! i'd like to thank my husband for his amazing patience and to my mother for her endless motivation and encouragement.
be sure to check back for buddy's (aka elf on the shelf) last appearances before and on christmas morning.
i hope you all have a fantastically blessed christmas and safe travels! ~xoox
