project chalkboard
day 1: i forgot to take a true before picture of this eight pane window i purchased at an antique shop with a friend, who has an endless amount of creativity and encouragement. adam tried to save all eight but couldn't due to structural difficulties.
please note adam's mask for protecting himself against lead poisoning. and now let's take a look-see at his selection of footwear! never mind the possibility of severing a toe, right? good thing for that mask.

day 2: a trip to home depot for supplies. this is where we argued over the specifics of such items: nails, fine or medium sandpaper, mounting hardware and if we should buy the chalkboard paint in a spray formula or spend the extra $3 for a quart-size can.
day 3: two more trips to home depot for the wrong supplies purchased on day 2.
hours later and the nagging, oh the nagging no husband should have to endure from his wife, ever again.

day 4: even though it really only took about three days to complete this project I'm extending it another day, the day brenner's world nearly fell apart. while playing at our neighbor's house some evil child/teenager/tweaker went in their garage and took brenner's bike and his brand new hat he purchased with his allowance. I will tell you there is no greater pain in this world than to hold your child while he sobs uncontrollably as you try to explain, without crying yourself, why bad things happen to good people.
on this day 4, i give you brenner's illustration of the crime scene.

Awwww......
